  DR. JASON AUERBACH

  Founder, Riverside Oral Surgery

  A full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon focusing on complex office-based procedures, including laser-assisted dental implant surgery, advanced bone grafting, wisdom tooth extraction, exposures of impacted canines for orthodontic patients, and so on much more. Dr. Jason M. Auerbach is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon certified by both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. This dual certification – and the expertise it reflects – enables Dr. Auerbach to provide patients with the full range of oral and maxillofacial surgery services, including those requiring intravenous sedation or general anesthesia, at either of Riverside Oral Surgery‘s specially equipped and staffed offices. Dr. Auerbach’s areas of practice emphasis include dental implants, bone grafting, and wisdom teeth extraction. Born in New York and raised in the metropolitan area, Dr. Auerbach attended New York University’s College of Dentistry, earning his DDS degree and graduating with honors. He then completed the prestigious Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Auerbach’s belief in the importance of education and training is evident in his dedication to the residents at Hackensack University Medical Center, where he volunteers his time. Dr. Auerbach is also on staff at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, and Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY. Highly recruited out of training, Dr. Auerbach joined a prominent Park Ave practice in midtown Manhattan, where he honed much of his office-based surgical skill. Eventually making the decision to bring his family from New York City to Bergen County to practice in northern New Jersey, Dr. Auerbach began to focus on merging exceptional care with the patient experience to form what ultimately would become the basis for Riverside Oral Surgery. Dr. Auerbach founded Riverside Oral Surgery in 2007 and, in so doing, began to realize his vision of providing the optimal patient experience through clinical excellence, compassionate care, and close attention to every detail. Since then, he has been honored regularly by colleagues and patients alike, including through his repeated inclusion in New Jersey magazine’s annual list of Top Dentists and similar recognition from other publications and organizations. The practice’s steady growth has led to change, so four oral and maxillofacial surgeons with specialized interests and expertise now provide care in Riverside Oral Surgery‘s original office in River Edge and now in Westwood. What has not changed, however, and what Dr. Auerbach emphasizes will never change, is his commitment – and that of all of his colleagues and team members – to that original, enduring vision of providing uncompromised care in an unparalleled setting.

  DR. GARY VITALE

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  A native of New Jersey, Dr. Vitale attended Essex Catholic High School, received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Seton Hall University, and then went on to receive his dental degree from UMDNJ. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at UMDNJ and University Hospital in Newark, NJ, where he served as Chief Resident during his last year. Dr. Vitale has served the West Essex community for 37 years, primarily in the West Caldwell office. He was Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Mountainside Hospital and St. Barnabas Medical Centers, as well as a faculty member of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Jersey City Medical Center and President of the West Essex Dental Association. During his career, Dr. Vitale has been known for his compassion, dedication to his patients, and loyalty to the dental community. His recognition by his peers has resulted in his selection as a New Jersey Monthly Top Dentist every year since its inception in 2002. A published author in the Journal of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the New Jersey Dental Association, Dr. Vitale has remained an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, The Academy of Osseointegration, The International Team for Implantology, The American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, The New Jersey Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, The Essex County Dental Association and The West Essex Dental Association. Dr. Vitale’s character and experience make him a valued member of the Riverside Oral Surgery team.

  DR. NITISH GANGOLI

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Nitish Gangoli is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He is a New Jersey native, and proud to be working and living in the area where he grew up. He attended Boston University, receiving a B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He then earned a Master’s degree from UMDNJ, followed by a DMD degree from UMDNJ – New Jersey Dental School, currently part of Rutgers University. Dr. Gangoli then did an internship at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, and completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, DE; acting as chief resident in his final year. His surgical training incorporated the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, bone grafting and implants, outpatient anesthesia, non-surgical facial cosmetic procedures (neurotoxins and fillers), facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and head/neck pathology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has presented research on a national level. He is also a member of both the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the New Jersey Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Outside the office, Dr. Gangoli enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, discovering new restaurants, watching and playing tennis, and getting to know his new community and surroundings.

  DR. SUNG HEE CHO

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Sung Hee Cho is a Board Certified dual-degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon – trained and licensed as both a dentist and a medical doctor – who practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery while possessing specialized education and experience in managing oral cavity cancers and other pathology, including performing microvascular reconstructive surgery. Dr. Cho earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine, where he served as Student Body President and co-editor of the student research publication. He then entered the Emory University School of Medicine, where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Dr. Cho completed a Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery under the guidance of the internationally renowned Steven Roser, DMD, MD, an internship in General Surgery, and an American Head and Neck Society-accredited (AHNS) Oncologic and Microvascular Surgical Fellowship in the Department of Otolaryngology. He is the first oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the country to complete this highly specialized Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) medical training. Immediately upon completing his Fellowship at Emory, Dr. Cho, his wife Juliane, and their three sons relocated to Bergen County so that Dr. Cho could join Riverside Oral Surgery. Dr. Cho is on staff and operates out of Hackensack University Medical Center. He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on peripheral nerve repair, written textbook chapters on the medical management of surgical patients, and participates in educating resident doctors at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Cho has also volunteered on medical mission trips to Jamaica and Nicaragua to treat various conditions, including cleft lip and palate. Dr. Cho’s extensive training enables him to manage benign and malignant conditions of the head and neck, complex craniomaxillofacial trauma, reconstructive procedures, the care of critically ill patients, and all other aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. His superb skills are matched by his commitment to the Riverside Oral Surgery philosophy of assuring the optimal patient experience by providing uncompromised care in an unparalleled setting.

  DR. SHAWN LYNN

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Hailing from Binghamton, New York, Dr. Lynn is a distinguished oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a passion for providing exceptional patient care. He obtained his DDS from the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry and went on to complete a general practice residency, followed by Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn. During his time there, he served as Chief Resident and received the esteemed “Resident of the Year” award. Dr. Lynn’s commitment to advancing his field is evident through his publication in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and his international volunteer work, where he has treated children with facial deformities, including cleft lip and palate. As a valuable addition to our team, Dr. Lynn upholds Riverside Oral Surgery’s commitment to delivering outstanding patient experiences. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Lynn is an avid skier and the driving force behind the annual Riverside Oral Surgery CE and Ski Trip, which fosters camaraderie and education among local colleagues. He also enjoys playing guitar, running, and cherishing moments with his wife, two children, and beloved dog.

  DR. AKEYLA BROWN

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Akeyla Brown earned her dental degree at Howard University College of Dentistry, graduating with honors, and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. She then went on to pursue Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Howard University Hospital, with surgical experience from Georgetown University Hospital, Veterans Affairs Hospital, Washington Hospital Center, Children’s National Medical Center, Anne Arundel Medical Center, and Winchester Hospital Center in Virginia. Dr. Brown has received extensive training in dental alveolar surgery, implantology, advanced bone grafting, management of TMJ disorders, and orthognathic surgery. As a chief resident, she was also awarded the Philip J. Boyne Scholarship and was then selected to complete an externship with the Geistlich Bio-oss/Osteo-Science Foundation. Dr. Brown is committed to education and currently serves as faculty to the residents at NYU Langone AEGD program. She is also a founding member of the W.I.N.D. continuing education platform for women dental specialists. In addition to education, Dr. Brown has a true passion for service and has completed multiple medical/dental missions to Cameroon, Jamaica, and Haiti. Her love for community service is ongoing, and she continues to serve as a National Health Service Corp provider.

  DR. MICHAEL PERRINO

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Perrino is a Board Certified dual-degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon – trained and licensed as both a dentist and medical doctor with additional fellowship training in Craniofacial Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery. Dr. Perrino practices full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery while maintaining a busy dentoalveolar and dental implant surgery practice. Prior to joining Riverside Oral Surgery, Dr. Perrino was the Director of Cleft and Pediatric Maxillofacial Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center and was responsible for managing the most complicated patients with a focus on repairing cleft lip and palate, Robin sequence, craniofacial reconstruction, including corrective jaw surgery, treatment of maxillofacial pathology and reconstruction, and pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery. He now has faculty appointments at Hackensack University Medical Center and Jacobi Medical Center where he continues to employ his specialized skill set and passion for teaching residents. Dr. Perrino graduated from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine at the top of his class and was a member of the National Dental Honor Society, earning over a dozen awards for his scholarship. He completed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at New York – Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. During his time at Columbia, Dr. Perrino earned his medical degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed a General Surgery Internship at NYPH. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Perrino received additional training as the Pediatric Oral and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is the only craniofacial fellowship-trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the Northern Jersey and New York City region. He is an active member of multiple national societies where he has been selected for committee positions. He presents and lectures nationally on various topics from medicine, to dental implants and grafting, to cleft, craniofacial and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Perrino volunteers abroad on surgical missions to treat children with cleft lip and palate in South American countries and co-directs a bi-annual trip to Mexico. He has a long list of publications in major journals with a focus on cleft and craniofacial surgery and pathology. When he is not in the office, Dr. Perrino loves spending time at home in Tenafly, NJ, with his wife, two children, and their dog.

  DR. JONATHAN MICHEL

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Facial Cosmetic Surgeon

  Dr. Michel attended Columbia University College of Dental Medicine earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and then completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. During that time Dr. Michel was trained to diagnose and treat disorders of the teeth, jaws, and face. He practices dentoalveolar, implant, and orthognathic surgery, as well as treats pathology and traumatic facial injuries. Dr. Michel continues to incorporate new technologies into his procedures to improve patient outcomes. Upon finishing residency, and achieving board certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Michel sought additional training to treat facial soft tissue deformities. Dr. Michel was accepted into a highly competitive facial cosmetic surgery fellowship with Dr. Jon Perenack at Louisiana State University – New Orleans (LSUNO) where he performed over 900 cosmetic procedures. During his fellowship, he was faculty at LSUNO’s Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program teaching residents. Dr. Michel treats the aging face and neck with Morpheus8, Facetite, liposuction, face and neck lifts, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, chin augmentation, lip lifts, blepharoplasty, and brow lifts with the same precision he does the facial bones and teeth. He also provides BotoxTM and filler injections to patients looking to enhance their confidence non-surgically. In his spare time, Dr. Michel plays ice hockey, golfs, and enjoys hiking with his wife Leighanne, son Jackson, and rescue dog Chloe.

  DR. HENRY FALK

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Henry J. Falk is a highly respected, board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, who has been providing exceptional care to his patients for over 40 years. A native of New York, Dr. Falk graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He then attended Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio. He went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Western Massachusetts Hospital and then completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the V.A. Hospital in East Orange, NJ. Dr. Falk, who primarily practices in the West Orange location, is an attending at RWJ Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ, where he previously served as Chief of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Falk was also a faculty member of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the Jersey City Medical Center. He is proud of the recognition of his peers, being nominated for the Top Dentist award from New Jersey Magazine every year since its inception in 2002. Throughout his career, Dr. Falk has demonstrated a commitment to his patients as well as his colleagues. He has a particular interest in dental implants, which he began placing when they were first introduced to the United States over 40 years ago. He has lectured on the subject as newer techniques developed. Dr. Falk is an active member of multiple professional societies, including the New Jersey Dental Association, The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, and The Essex County Dental Society.   DR. MARGO J. FREEDBERG

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Margo J Freedberg is a highly respected Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who has provided exceptional and compassionate care to her patients for over 25 years in her practice in Springfield NJ. Dr. Freedberg is certified by both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. She is also a fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr Freedberg graduated from Wayne Hills High School prior to attending the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating with Honors in 1990, she attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society upon graduation in 1994. From there, she began a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident in 1998. At that point she started working in her practice in Springfield and joined Overlook Medical Center as an attending oral surgeon. She continues to teach residents there and has served as Chief of the Oral Surgery Department. With an interest in dental implants, bone grafting, wisdom tooth extractions and multiple other oral surgery procedures, Dr. Freedberg combines her technical proficiency with a gentle touch, creating a comfortable environment for her patients. She utilizes state-of-the-art technology and adheres to strict safety protocols, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction. Dr. Freedberg’s approach is unhurried, giving each patient the attention and compassion necessary to help them understand their treatment plan. Dr. Freedberg’s warm and empathetic nature puts her patients at ease as she takes the time to listen and understand her patients’ concerns.   DR. JAMES MCMENAMIN

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. James McMenamin is a highly respected, board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who has served the Warren community for the last 35 years. Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. McMenamin attended Seton Hall Prep in South Orange, NJ, and then went on to earn his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. Following his undergraduate, he attended Rutgers School of Medicine and Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He then pursued his Oral and Maxillofacial surgery residency training at Jersey City Medical Center, where he currently holds the position of Chief of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery as well as the Director of the program. Additionally, Dr. McMenamin was the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Director of the Dental Department at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center for 18 years, until its closure in 2008, where he contributed to the education and training of students in his field. Dr. McMenamin has received extensive training in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dental alveolar surgery, implantology, bone grafting, orthognathic surgery, and trauma surgery. When Dr. McMenamin is not in surgery, he enjoys golfing and traveling with his wife, Barbara, and is the proud father of 4 children. He is a member of Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey, and Ballyliffin Golf Club in Ireland.

  DR. RINIL PATEL

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Rinil Patel is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Patel’s current clinical practice is focused on dentoalveolar surgery, bone grafting, dental implants, maxillofacial pathology, and maxillofacial trauma. As a Florida native, Dr. Patel completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. He then moved to the nation’s capital, Washington DC, to complete his dental education at Howard University’s College of Dentistry. Here, he served as Student Council Vice President and was recognized for demonstrating strong traits in leadership, serving the underserved, demonstrating values of integrity, leadership, and service. He also received an award for demonstrating greatest commitment and interest in temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain. After graduating in 2015, he furthered his knowledge and training at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, where he remained for the next five years to specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has received comprehensive training in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implant surgery, facial trauma, maxillofacial pathology, TMJ surgery, cosmetic surgery, and orthognathic surgery. During his final year of training, Dr. Patel served as Chief Resident and was recognized as Resident of the Year.   DR. GLENN REGENYE

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Glenn Regenye was born and raised in New Jersey. He graduated from Roselle Catholic High School and received a BS degree with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He then graduated with a DMD degree from UMDNJ and completed his Oral Maxillofacial Surgical Residency at University Hospital in Newark, NJ. He completed two overseas fellowships in Maxillofacial surgery in East Grinstead, England, and Caracas, Venezuela. He has been Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery since 1991. He has maintained a private practice in Central Jersey since 1992 and continues to be on the medical staff of JFK Hospital in Edison, New Jersey. He lives with his wife and son in Hunterdon county and travels nationwide with his son in equestrian events. He volunteers his time in training current law enforcement and military officers in life-saving blood control techniques.

  DR. JUSTIN RICHER

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Richer is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a specialty focus on treating patients with Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) dysfunction. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Richer earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. After a year in clinical research at Johns Hopkins University, he proceeded to earn his DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, where he graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon society. He extended his education to include a four-year Residency Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Joseph Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. During his residency training, he developed a passion to treat patients with TMJ disorders and other complex jaw disorders, dentoalveolar procedures, dental implants, and other mouth diseases. This passion led him to pursue a fellowship in TMJ surgery and Advanced Dental robotic surgery in Northwest Arkansas. Dr. Richer looks to bring his expertise, passion for excellent patient care, and extensive training in TMJ surgery to the northeast.

  DR. JARED ROSENSTOCK

  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

  Dr. Jared Rosenstock is a dual degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, with training as both a dentist (DMD) and medical doctor (MD). Dr. Rosenstock grew up in Toronto, Canada. He attended The University of Western in Ontario, where he received a B.S. in Biology. Following his undergraduate education, Dr. Rosenstock was awarded with a prestigious scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated with high honors and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Upon graduation, Dr. Rosenstock was accepted into a highly competitive six-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program. Dr. Rosenstock earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. He then completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at both Mount Sinai Hospital and Jacobi Medical Centre in New York City, where he completed 1 year of training in General Surgery and served as chief resident during his final year. During his residency, Dr. Rosenstock not only gained extensive training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesiology but also had the unique opportunity of becoming highly skilled in surgeries involving head and neck cancer, and facial reconstruction. Dr. Rosenstock’s comprehensive knowledge and training extend far beyond the traditional scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Highly skilled in the removal of wisdom teeth, bone grafting, and placement of dental implants, Dr. Rosenstock adds so much to the Riverside Oral Surgery team as he is also highly competent in managing and treating medically compromised patients, oral pathology, salivary gland diseases, and orthognathic surgery. Setting Dr. Rosenstock apart is also his uniquely specialized training in pediatrics, including pediatric anesthesia and the comprehensive treatment of all pediatric oral surgery needs. Dr. Rosenstock has been published in peer-reviewed Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery journals and has presented at dental implant and oral pathology conferences nationwide. When Dr. Rosenstock is not in the dental office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, as well as listening to music and traveling.
